Market analysis of composite materials for Chinese boats and boats
China's domestic boat market is almost entirely concentrated on commercial boats and quasi military boats, but there is no leisure yacht industry market. With the rapid growth of the wealth of entrepreneurs who promote economic development, the leisure yacht industry is expected to grow (there is a saying that it will grow explosively), but there are different views on the timing of development. The report written by YP loke for boattech China estimated that in 2006, there were about 250 companies producing 10-20 meter long GRP boats in China
commercial boats are restricted by the rules of China Classification Society (CCS), and until recently, these rules have not kept pace with the international development level of composite technology. In addition to some clauses, the latest version is well written, including a set of modern specification requirements, reflecting the current knowledge of various loads, construction technology and materials of boats. However, the current designs are more in line with the previous regulations, and the boat builders have to adapt to the new regulatory environment. As a result, many small boats built for local use still have a very traditional construction concept. They still use the single shell plate structure reinforced by the cross beam system with a small spacing, and the raw material is only the polyester resin short-life temporary composite reinforced by chopped fiber felt (CSM)/twistless roving plaid (WR). In order to keep pace with the times, adopt sandwich structure and make use of more effective and easily available multi axial reinforcement materials, these ship manufacturers need to provide convincing engineering design argumentation to China Classification Society to explain what they want to do and prove that their proposed methods can meet the requirements of the current specifications. There is no need to change the attitude of the supervision department as the feedback signal gate of the small flow servo valve controlling the excitation hydraulic cylinder. In fact, their idea is to look forward and analyze the displacement of 0.001mm. What they need to do is to help the supervision department accept the new technology
the construction of leisure boats for offshore market is not subject to regional norms. However, in many cases, the manufacturing method of laminated plate structure is still very traditional, because the built boats are relatively old-fashioned, usually with large displacement, so they are not sensitive to weight. These projects are all from Taiwan, because Taiwan's shipbuilding industry has shifted to the "high-end market" to produce larger semi customized motor yachts. Due to the rising labor costs in Taiwan, its 12-18 meter type of boats and boats are no longer profitable at the established prices in the international market. Therefore, they transferred the production of the above boats and boats to the mainland together with the manufacturing technology of about a decade ago. This approach is easy to understand, because various construction processes are tested to be reliable and easy to replicate. When the shipyard is built, the manufacturing capacity becomes stronger, and other materials can be obtained locally, the traditional chopped fiber felt/roving Plaid method will be replaced, but this must be proved by many criteria, not just considering the construction cost
due to the low labor cost, the manufacturing cost in China is likely to be lower than that in other regions. Moreover, lower material costs (3) lightweight materials - making household appliances more frivolous is also an important factor. On the whole, China's composite material market is huge, and the boat industry is out of such an environment, and there is an opportunity to find products with lower prices than other low labor cost regions in China. Many suppliers with next-generation technology are constantly entering China, such as multiaxial fabric manufacturers, epoxy resin manufacturers and core material manufacturers. As stated by high modulus in boattech China 2006, the difference between labor costs and material costs leads to the technical specifications of low-cost laminates, which will not appear in the United States or other markets. Multi axial fabrics are now on the market, and the cost is lower than that in the western market. The relatively low cost of roving Plaid often leads to the optimized laminated structure is still very traditional. In other markets, there is little difference in the prices of the above two reinforcements, while commercial boats tend to use multi axial seam braids, because the increased material costs can be offset by lower labor costs
